RE: Stag Value
I'm enjoying the responses to this inquiry. I'm dealing with a bit of
sticker shock about what it's going to cost me for a complete motor
rebuild plus the stripping and repainting of my '73 Stag. If I sold it I
could buy a pretty nice new car for the same investment, and I definetly
couldn't sell the Stag for what I'll have in it.
But then I wouldn't have the Stag.
What fools we mortals be.
I was faced with a similar decision when my Austin-Healey 100-6 needed
restoration and the kids were nearing college age. My wife said she
wasn't willing for me to blame her or the kids for my selling the Healey.
So the car was restored, and the kids got their education. The Healey won
first place in popularity for its class at an international meet in
Breckenridge in 1994. It's not for sale, and neither is the Stag.
