RE: Running on unleaded

Hi,

Which parts catalogue? There are 4 editions suffix A-D. The earlier one
has a different part number for the exhaust valve compared to the later
ones when the exhaust valve was commonised with the TR7.

Remember the TR7 didn't come out until the mid 70's, although the 1850
/ Sprint and SAAB engines were around before then. I don't think
Triumph's Technical Director Spencer King (ex Rover) was to fussed
about un-leaded petrol in 1968-1969 when he was responsible for the Stag
development.

Personally I think Harry Webster's plan was better (Triumph's previous
Technical Director); put the 2.5PI into the Stag, then bring out a 3
litre version of the Sedan (Innsbruck) and the Stag when they had it
ready. This would have meant enough money could be spent on the 3 litre
V8 (to get it right).

But that would have taken sales away from the Rover P6 3.5 V8. Oh well
company politics again.

	Hi All
The parts catalogue shows all Stags having the same exhaust
valve seats, all
	the same as TR7.
