	Thanks for the info - I have just been bitten by the over application of
torque, I rebuilt the water pump and gave the lefthanded bolt one turn too
many. Luckily I managed to get the remains out with a centre punch. Why is
there never any spares places open on a Saturday afternoon?

I will do the inlet manifold up by hand.off.

Off Topic****  I used to work with you at Digital in Leatherhead! - Do you
still have the Stag fitted with Nitrous Oxide?

Tim,

I should be very careful using a torque wrench on these
bolts. The correct figure is 20 lb.ft. but torque wrenchs can
be inaccurate at the extremes of their range. Therefore the
common one which goes from 20-120 could result in your
overtightening the bolt and stripping the thread in the
aluminium head.  (I've know because I've done it!)

Personally I use a ring spanner and good old "feel".
I think it's far more important to get the mating surfaces flat
to ensure a good seal of the waterways.  After problems
with mine I've followed the advice of the SOC's Technical Advisor
and put a small ring of "Instant gasket" on each mating face.
I let this harden before re-fitting the manifold. However I haven't
yet filled it up with coolant so can't report on the result.

P.S.  Re. Central Locking.  Is that where you sit on the
handbrake lever and reach out and lock both doors at the
same time?
