Hi all from down under.
I'm a 1973 MKII Stag owner near Palmerston North, New Zealand. As
winter's approaching here I've put the Stag in my garage and am
undertaking a moderate restoration project, including full respray,
interior recondition, and soft top frame overhaul. Luckily the current
Mohair hood is still in good nick so I'll leave that.
So far I've got the interior completely stripped except for the dash,
and most of the exteriors including the roll bar, bumpers etc are off
also.
Does anybody know if there is a way to remove the lower chrome sidelines
that run along the exterior of the car at the floorline? I've tried
moderate leverage but am afraid I will crease the trim or dent the
bodywork. Also the side indicator lights are difficult to access from
the engine bay to remove. Is there a trick/tool I don't know?
Happy summer motoring up north while I shiver in the garage!
Wal Thompson
