Parts advertised for sale

Hi All
There was another of those "barnfull" type ads in the May 98 Mag.
A  member states 10 years collecting parts and needs to clear garage, Eight
engines, 15 gearboxes, 25 diffs. Taking Van load to Gaydon. I know the
feeling, I have 300 lines of parts in my garage.
However I must say that if I wanted to buy one of those engines I would want
to check out the origin. The engine number would be possibly the way to do
this. I could not live with the thought that an engine I bought may have been
taken from a Stag stolen from a fellow club member. Of course I am not saying
those engines are in this class and it may well be a subscriber to this list
who has them up for sale and they can be completely vouched for, but I would
like to think the vendor could accept being asked to explain their origin.
