Dear David,
Hello. With respect to the idea of an audible oil pressure add-on, I
personally think this is a bit unnecessary. I mean, it's not as though the
average Stag owner expects the oil pressure to drop markedly at any moment
and so must then stop immediately to avoid permanent engine damage. To me,
oil pressure is one of those longer-term indicators of the health of an
engine that one just keeps an eye on, and as we have heard recently over
the last few weeks on this Listserv, it indicates a great number of
possible causes.
As for an audible temperature reminder, I am again uncertain of the value:
If it's hot and I'm in traffic I watch the gauge as a matter of course,
perhaps this indicates some "Stag paranoia", but I think if I had a beeper
for a hot engine on my car I would be even more entrenched in this
paranoia.
