If you are looking to change the belts then you should look at inertia
belts. I'm sure a lap belt would only succeed in breaking your back in
an accident and planting your face either on the steering wheel or into
the windscreen. A pair should only be about US$150. [steps on soapbox] I
know the U.S. public is not "keen" on primary restraint systems but take
it from me , a person who was a passenger in a Triumph Spitfire when it
hit a dirt bank and a light stand.. I love seat belts! (did bruise my
knee on parcel tray tho! )[steps off soap box]

The inertia belts are more convenient than static belts. Gotta watch the
interia's though as they are right and left handed (ie a pair consist of
one belt for the right hand side of the car and one for the left)

All that is left of my seat belts on my '71 is the lap belt. The
coupling on the tunnel is shot so belting oneself in is difficult and
probably not worth the trouble anyway (except for the law!). Anyone have
any suggestions? I'm thinking there may be belts out there that are
interchangable or close enough to work. I'm also looking for a
convertible top frame and hardware. I only recently discovered they were
optional and my PO didn't get one. Sure would be nice as long as El Nino
