Greetings!, I have a '73 Stag that has all the parts to complete a Rover engine/trans conversion. The car is intact and in overall excellent condition. I have a short-block assembled from a 80 Rover SD-1, and a 5 speed from the same car.All head work has been done, and the rest of the engine has been completely gone thru, and has a Erson mild-grind cam and new headers. This state of modification was drawn from the advise of the TR-8 guys, and with a 4-barrel carb should produce about 250-260 hp. The conversion kit was purchased from a reputable U.K. supplier that performs these conversions on a regular basis, complete down to the modified shift tower for the trans that allows the shifter to exit thru the stock Stag location, and all the mounts, brackets, and pulleys that represent a necessary modification from standard. I also have a new set of special springs that allows the car to remain at the proper ride height and pitch---considering that the Rover package is 150 pounds lighter than the stock set-up. I am selling the package for $ 7500.00-complete, or $ 5,000 for the car minus the Rover engine/trans, and conversion kit. The basic car has the hardtop, a new convertible top, not a stitch of rust, and has been off the road for 8 years, and always stored in a garage....here in Colorado.
