Hello to all!
I also just got my heads reconditioned about 2 months ago. The heads
were original thickness when I took them in. I took them in
disassembled with new springs I had. This guy is the local cylinder
head guru, and gets most of the Jag heads to recon in the area. He
tanked and bead blasted the heads, tested for cracks, ran taps in all
the holes, new brass guides, skimmed .010 (first .005, then he was not
satisfied with the surface and went .005 again) He set the valve seat
angles to original spec, verified hardened seats for unleaded. Total
cost was $427.64 US.
My second set of heads are in the process of being recon'ed, but they
have already been skimmed to the minimum, so I have a set of the extra
thick gaskets ready for that build. The left one required some build up
from some valve dings that cost about $85.00.
A couple of months ago I had located a salvage yard that had
some Stag heads in the US. I recently found that number, and he has new
and recon heads.
It is TS Imported Auto Wrecking, (800) 543-6648. I think his e-mail is
mailto:[email protected]

When last I talked to him, he had a new set complete for $550, and some
recon
sets. I think this is a very reasonable price for recon or new Stag
heads.

Sincere Regards and Happy Holidays to All,
