In a message dated 28/11/97 11:48:21 GMT, you write:

smoothly, do NOT replace the carrier or nose extension.

In all the time I owned my Stag and on a number of other Stags I've become
far too closely aquainted to. I have never yet been able to determine how
long the pushrod should be.
In order for the bite to be above carpet level mine has always needed a 1/4"
spacer to move the slave cylinder rearwards. In this time it has had a new
slave cylinder, 3 part clutch & another plate on a separate occasion, new
carrier extension and spigot bearing, hydraulic hose ( Triple steel
reinforced not the nylon variety which melt suprisingly on hot tubular
exhausts ! ) and the seals have been done in the master cylinder.
I had resigned myself to this being yet another "wonder of the world", these
having increased rapidly from the original 7 when I first met the dreaded
STAG.
