750il Seats/ filter

Greetings to all,

I have had difficulty searching the archives so forgive a probable repeat 
question.  I have a driver's seat on an 89 750il that is malfunctioning.  
Any advice on how to remove the seat?  Also...is it worth the time to 
replace the micro-filter or am I better off taking it to the dealer?
