i got the following note from my father with respect to a 94 325i belonging
to a friend of his. the gist of the issue is that he's being told that his
tranny is shot and he's being told it can't be rebuilt/repaired.
any insights would be appreciated.
thanks,
richard

Question re:BMW - Bud Baynard has a 325 i, the big engine. The
transmission is dual, via a button push from automatic to stick shift. He
started loosing power and he was told his transmission had gone. He was
quoted a price on a new transmission and told the transmission could not be
rebuilt, he had to have a new one. Does this seem reasonable? He wants
to
make sure he was not taken. Any thing on the BMW net work re
transmissions?
