This is what I expect also, but I'm far from an expert on this
stuff. I would think that fooling the computer with a "modified"
O2 sensor reading could work, though.

I don't deny that this could be true. However, if it is, how,
then does the computer know how much fuel to squirt at WOT/high
rpm?
