Re: e34 computer stuff

I don't know E34s too well, but if this were and E30 or E36 it would be
two unrelated problems.
The On Board Computer (OBC or with ECD) is prompting you to either enter
the OBC code or the radio code. Do it and see if it comes back to live.
Dead RPM and gas consumption gauges typically indicate dead Service
Interval (SI) batteries. Search the net or the archives for how-to
replacement steps on E34s.

All,
Having some problems.. last week, my computer went nuts. I now have no
gas or RPM gauge (they quit working) and the ECD (electronic display) now
just shows "CODE?".. arrooww? What's happened? I'm told I may need a new
mainboard. Any suggestions on replacement, costs? can I do this myself?
Please help! I have a 91 e34 with 150,000 miles on it.. runs great and is
a Dinan model.
