Re: bmw-digest V9 #2325



As for the Koni vs Bilsteins shocks.
I have a '00 M Roadster with Koni SA shocks and a '96 328i with Bilstien
Heavy Duty shocks.  Both are fine for each car respectively.  The Bilstein
are well matched for the E36 series.  I would go with the Bilstein Sports
for your setup, unless you want adjustabilty.  Easier to install also.

The Front Koni's will required you to do some cutting on the top of the
tower to remove the insert hold down crimp.  The Koni's come as insterts
with a screw and washer that holds the insert in the strut.  Much work and
may not be worth your effort.  I have the instruction on what is needed to
be doen if anyone needed them.  Go with the Bilstiens and don't look back.
