Question on 528E

Hello Group:

I think my 1986 528E with a automatic transmission has bit the dust.  It
was running fine today however, when came back from the store I could
not get it in gear.  I just tired to get it toward but it will not even
role in neutral.  I am awaiting a different tow truck with a dolly to
tow it.  The shifter works but just the engine will rev when I move the
transmission lever from park, neutral, drive.  So what do you think?  Is
the transmission cooked?  Do you think it is worth fixing? Any ideas
where you can by a rebuilt transmission.  I know Barvarian use to sell
them. All advise is appreciated.
