87 325IC Seats

I have a question:

My uncle recently purchased an 87 325 IC, and the seat is too far forward 
for comfort. He is 6 feet tall, and has the seat all the way back.

Has anybody else had this difficulty?  If so, how did you fix it?  He is 
considering taking the seat out and trying to re-engineer the brackets.  
Unfortunatly he is out of state, so I can't look at it myself.
