David,
Will this be a new M5 or one of the older models?  The new V8 5 series
cars have a clutch delay valve that people don't like and usually
remove.  It's an easy job.  Other than that, there isn't much of a
problem with the clutch system.  
 
What the delay valve does is keeps pressure on the clutch in order to
have smoother shifts and less strain on the drivetrain from jerky gear
changes.  But the added clutch pressure results in shortened life for
the clutch disc, which is an expensive unit.
