Another question.

where is the Big Boost Gruppe located? URL?

Are there any computer mods that have to be done?  Can you use an
aftermarket Header? cause I was thinking about one of these as well, when I
can afford it, and it might bypass the drilling out of the exhaust manifold
thing.

Or am I totally missing the mark, and this also includes a re and re of the
motor to a bigger motor as well?  Since you didnt mention that.

Anyone else heard of this being done?

I was planning to do the "bolt-on" 745 turbo conversion when my porsche was
ready, then I bought a powerboat, then I bought a 38' sailboat so piled in
my kitchen are: the turbo manifold, kkkturbo, wastegate, oil cooler,
intercooler and lots of 745 parts. And LOTS of boat
stuff....................and I think I just bought a diesel engine on ebay

In theory the only mods are: oil pan tap, exhaust down pipe weld, drill out
exhaust man for larger studs, relocate ABS, washer fluid tank, evaporator
cylinder (?) and coil. Everything should bolt on for 6psi. Also in theory
you don't need an intercooler at 6psi (250hp), and with a variable
wastegate. Since I haven't finished the 928, I can't be car-less and I'm
having that weird brake problem.

Should have kept my Suburban (Jake just kidding-no backs)

I have a high mileage 86' 3.5 that I don't mind blowing up. I can always
resell the turbo package! If you're really interested check out big boost
gruupe. How much do these engines weigh?

Hi Peter,

I noticed from your sig line that you have an 86 535i E28 that says 545i
soon.  Is this an easy mod?  What year motor are you going to use?  I was
contemplateing a "550i" conversion thinking that the car may have the same
mounting spots in engine bay as the 7 series, but if the 5 litre doesnt fit
then I would go for the 4.5.  Can you let me know what is involved?
