the new bugbear virus is an interesting respin of klez. in addition to
picking From and to from the victim's inbox, it also seems to scarf up
content to forward out.
for this reason, several of you have recently received mangled copies of
the bmw-digest -- including some folks not subscribed to it. i expect that
mangled copies of other lists, including ihc and alfa, are soon to follow.
if you do receive mangled, nonsensical, or non-sequiter email messages,
please please please don't open any attachments. and everyone, please
update your virus protection.
in particular, if you are using your employeer's email system, and you get
infected by bugbear, then it is quite possible that company confidential
documents could get emailed out by it to other parties.
