There is an interesting report in this morning's paper titled
"High-Tech lullt Autofaher ein" [High-tech is lulling drivers to
sleep] with an explanation for the 4% increase in German traffic
fatalities over the last half year compared to a year ago.  A traffic
expert argues that modern cars are getting too comfortable, that the
movement to smooth out road bumps and reduce engine and wind noise is
causing drivers to lose sense of their speed and underestimate
dangerous situations.

I guess there's life yet in those old 3ers!
