Chris,
First question: does the car have LSD? If it does, what fluid is in that
diff? Is there enough of it?
If the shudder is present only under load and only under acceleration while
turning (both sides), I would suspect the diff fluid (non LSD in an LSD
diff). I'm assuming that it is nothing serious like worn out diff
internals.
Either way, I highly recommend that you invest into an E36 Bentley manual
(www.rb.com) and BMW CCA membership (www.bmwcca.org).
