With ~125K mileage........I would start by replacing all the injectors and O rings, vacumm and intake system hoses, throttle intake boot as just
normal maintenance. Has the O2 sensor ever been changed ?
After 10 years, new ignition wires and a new cap and rotor would also be a prudent investment.
These cars need regular infusions of new parts to run correctly.

PS: At 125K, I have found the whole front suspension to be worn out .......
from the control arms to the strut bearings.
