a quick heads up, mostly for MSN subscribers but also as general
information for the rest of the digest readers out there.
some marketing wiz at MSN has just sent out a promotional spam plugging MSN
services. i got it as a "microsoft prefered customer", whatever that is.
in accordance with my standard policies, when i am spammed from a fixed
internet IP address, i add it to my block list. in this particular case, i
was careful to add exactly one IP address, rather than take out the whole
block of thousands that microsoft owns in that particular part of
internet address space.
hopefully this will not impact MSN subscribers to the digest at all.
however, should i receive additional spam promoting MSN, i may (and
probably will) expand the block, and eventually it may hurt access by MSN
users. if you find that you are blocked from sending email to me or to the
digest, you may always email me at [email protected]. that address
never has spam blocks in place.
