e30 wheel/tire question

I bought a lowered 87 325is with 16" TSW Blades a few years ago. The front
wheels necessitated a wheel spacers to keep the tires from rubbing on the
inside. Tire size: 205/50/16.

My question is this: my wife has an 87 325i with stock 14" wheels. If she
wishes to upgrade to 16" wheels, is she going to need spacers for any tire
at the 205 width just like I do? I'd like to avoid using spacers.
