'92 E34 525i Light problem

Hi, One of the lights in my trunk stopped working the other day, I
changed the bulb (assuming it was blown) only to discover the bulb wasn't
blown and it still doesn't work with the new bulb.The right hand side
light is ok, are they both powered from the same circit, and how easy is
it to remove the lining to the trunk lid? Thanks, Neil
