It's gets better........
It's 2.7 ETA engine and the mechanic used a 2.5L gasket.........80k
miles ago in 1990.
Interesting........since there are 2 different gasket part # for 2.7 and
2.5 Liter engines.
Removed the old bolts and some were ~35- 40 lbs of
torque......especially where the oil was leaking.
Front oil drain galley. Btw, some say that they all tend to leak at this
place. In any case, after looking at a E30 head at the machine shop, I
can live with a small leak in this area.......in necessary.
Some were 55-60 ft lbs. These old Verbus bolts do not look like stretch
bolts........
as they do not have the reduced shank.
Observed that the new spec for head bolt torque 22lbs +90degrees
+90degrees
is about 55-65 Ft lbs......Installed new bolts...(RIBE....torx head) and
tightened it a little more than specification. Maybe ~10 ft lbs......
