Windshield wiper "scratch" pattern: 96 328IS

My 96 328IS windshield has developed light scratches
from the wiper blades.  These are not scratches
created by the metal blade coming in contact with the
windshield, but are from the rubber blade itself. 

 They're very light, are located in the area from the
end of the blade to approximate 3 inches from the end.
 Very light "streaks" in the radial pattern of the
blade stroke.  

I've replaced the blades, but am wondering if there's
anything that can be done to polish out the scratches
without doing more damage.
