Trailing Arm Bushings

 Having some trouble getting the passenger side rear trailing arm
reinstalled (88 E30) after putting new bushings in.  The bushings seem to be
sticking "out" a bit too far.  Anyone know any tricks to convince the
bushings where they're supposed to go?  How about a measurement, of how far
the bushing is supposed to extend past the edge of the trailing arm? (At
least I'd know if I were in the right area before climbing under the car!)
