E28 M5 Brake lights

Hello and happy new year.  While driving my '88 M5 today, a good samaritan 
pointed out that my brake lights were on constantly.  I verified that it was 
in fact the case, and I'm hoping that it's simply a stuck switch (I'm not 
sure what else it could be).  Could anyone tell me how to get to it to heck 
it out.  Is this a major undertaking?
