'86 325 stalling while accelerating.

Four times now as I am accelerating hard (usually in 2nd gear) my '86
325 will suddenly stall. I will be at 2500 to 3000 rpm and the engine
drops to 0 rpm with no notice. I can always put in the clutch and
restart while I am still rolling, so it has no problem restarting.
I also have issues with the car jerking while cruising in the sub-2000
rpm range (which has been going on for awhile) but this is a new
symptom.


Any thoughts, clues?
