You might want to check the fuel pressure. If the fuel pressure is too high, it will run rich. The fuel pressure regulator is located on the front top of the engine and is attached to the fuel rail. It is supposed to regulate the fuel
pressure around 40 psi, and the excess fuel bleeds back to the fuel tank through a return hose. If the regulator fails, the pressure will go over 100 psi and cause extra fuel to bleed through the injectors. To check the fuel
regulator, pull the hose off the regulator and see if any fuel is being returned to the fuel tank.
