E30 Driveshaft Q's and Z3 window cleaner

Ok just got me car[e30 86' 325e/is] back from my
macanic and he fixed my oil leak. It seems that it was
the oil pressure sender like the reposnses had
thought. Thanks. But he also confirmed that my
driveshaft u-joint is shot. My question is what type
of options do I have to fix this? I have heared that
you can cut out the bmw u-joint and weld like a chevy
u-joint witch is stronger? Buy a new driveshaft[cost
$600]lots of money. Any other guys fixed there
u-joint? How hard is it to do? Any ideas on how I can
fix the problem for a just price. Don't want to cut
corners just looking over any options that I may have.
Any help would be great.

Also my mom just bought a 2001 Z3 convertable. She
want to know what is best to clean the back window
with. What do you guys use on yours.
