Mike,
Tire Rack has connections with local shops all around the country. Either
ask on the phone or look it up online. They will ship the tires to your
local shop, then the shop will mount the tires for whatever they charge. My
experience has been that sometimes after shipping its not any cheaper, but
most of the time it is a 'lot' cheaper. For example, for $700. I had
Bridgestone RE-730 (235/40-17) shipped, mounted and balanced, 225/50-16
should be muuuch less. If you really need any snow driveability, you will
need to skip the pure performance tires and look into performance all
seasons. For me, in MN, I swap between summer tires and winter tires, all
season tires are worthless in 4-5 months of snow, ice, slush, etc. Check
with Tire Rack for all season choices. Either way, I'd pass on the tires
you've mentioned.
