E34 Bushings

My 92 525i has the front end shimmy's during breaking and going down hills.
The control arm bushings were replaced about 20k miles ago.  I believe after
150K miles and 9 years it is about time to replace the shocks and all front
end bushings.

Can this be a DIY job?
Special tools involved?
Cost for materials?
Looking for a luxury ride, are Bilsteins or Boge the best?
How long would it take to replace all front end bushings and 4 shocks?
Do shockmounts require replacing?

Any links to detailed instructions for E34?
