One thing I would definitely recommend you add to your tune-up list is a
brake fluid flush (bleed out all the old fluid and replace with fresh). All
European cars have that procedure as a maintenance requirement at 2-year
intervals at the minimum. Brake fluid becomes contaminated with humidity
over time and neglecting it may lead to premature brake system problems,
especially with the ABS pump (read: $$$$) not to mention much reduced
boiling point which can cause the fluid to boil over when you drive the car
hard with a lot of brake use (read: yikes, no brakes!). It is not an
expensive procedure and at a BMW specialist shop usually comes with
lubrication of the rear parking brake mechanism which in the Canadian
climate tends to seize up with all the salt and moisture it is exposed to.
