Good Evening Digestees,
I am a newcomer to the BMW Digest - although not to the Alfa Digest. I just
acquired a '97 328is for my new daily driver (which, by the way, I absolutely
love) and hope I'll be welcomed here on this Digest. I have found the
(er..."other") Digest to be an endless source of information, entertainment,
and sometimes enlightenment - that's for sure.
My question for now is, sometimes on acceleration, I hear a slight buzzing or
light rattling sound which I believe to be coming from the cat.
converter/center muffler (exhaust shroud?) area. I am guessing that the
randomness of it's appearance is due to the operating
temperature/expansion-contraction of the metal at that given moment. Is this
at all a common issue with this particular car? Oh, it's the original exhaust
w/ 55K meticulously maintained miles on the car. Thanks for any help in
advance, and glad to be here,
- -shemp
