Tree Sap "Resolution"

Many thanks to all who sent in suggestions on getting rid of the "tree
sap" on the hood of my car. If you have been following this thread, you now
know it was insect (Sycamore Lacewing) droppings and not tree sap.

I tried all the suggestions posted to the Digest, including WD-40. The
one that clearly worked best was a product called Tarminator (yes, that is
the correct spelling). A rag with Tarminator sprayed on it dissolved lots
but not all of each pin-sized dropping. As you rubbed the rag across the
hood, each time you passed over the many, miniscule droppings, you could see
that you were making some progress by the fact that the dissolved bits
formed a tail to each dropping, like a tail on a comet. I guess that if you
had the arm of Charles Atlas and the patience of Job, you could indeed
eventually get rid of all the hundreds of pin sized droppings all over the
hood.

I have neither. I'll do some overtime work and use the money to pay a
detailing outfit to buff this crap out with an electric buffer. I reckon it
would take a goodly number of eight-hour days of continual hand rubbing to
get rid of all of those tiny droppings.

    Life's too short, folks,

Thanks for all the suggestions...and don't park under any Sycamores.

    Seeker
