As well as owners manual impaired (that's okay, my wife won't read it either
- -- she says that's what I'm for). Also, she only thinks it's happenning at
varying times of the day - in fact, its happening at just under one minute
before the top of the hour. This is the "Memo" function, and is a feature
which can be turned on or off by pressing the appropriate button on the OBC
(some models say 'Memo', and others use a different button - maybe the
set/reset button when the display shows the time?). This is designed to
alert the driver to the fact that it is almost the top of the hour.
Apparently in Germany, news, weather, whatever comes on the radio every
hour, and this reminder can be set to go off just before that so you can
turn on the radio (I think it'goes off about 45 seconds before the hour).
It can only be turned on or off; you can't change it to go off at any other
time. There is also a little display in the OBC to let you know it's set -
three small concentric arcs that look like a little horn.
