Hey Folks! Im gonna install keyless entry into my 86 735i. I've been
feeling pretty comfortable so far, I had been using my haynes manual to
figure out the wires for the parking light/rear lights flashers when you
lock or unlock the car. That's all good. But I've gotten a little
stumped with all the actuator wires in my driver's side door. A few
questions: 1. Where is the central locking "brain" in my car. 2. Which
wires control the main unlocking and locking relay? I'm assuming I
need to tap into those wires to in effect bypss the signal sent when the
key is turned. There are five wires coming out of the actuator in the
driver's door, a brown one, which I guess is the ground, a black and
white one, a blue one and two more, that I'm not sure of the colors right
now, I'm presently separated from my car. 3. Has anyone done the exact
same installation in an identical car? 4. Which years and models use the
same system? 5. Does anyone know of any good sources for installing
something like this on the internet? Ive found some on E30 models, but
none for E23. I don't know if they're the same or not. I think I'm
going to wait to put in the other options, like starter kill and double
locking, until I know a little more about all this stuff. Thanks in
advance, Kevin.
