Are E34 instrument clusters interchangeable?

Hi!

Is it possible to exchange the (mostly dead) instrument cluster in my
'93 520iA ( NO check control) for the cluster out of a different model (WITH
check control) such as a 530i or similar? Anyone have any idea how this
would work out, or are they too totally different animals.... Would the
check control work????
Even better, anyone got a working 520i cluster for sale either in
Ireland or willing to ship here? :-)
