parking...and out running the cops...hehe

Well,

I guess I enjoy reading other peoples parking strategies, so I might as
well throw in mine.

1. Never take two spaces.
2. Never take a contested space (unless you don't worry about keying or are
willing to stand around for a while)
3. If a spot is contested and you feel that it is morally yours and take
it, write down the license plate number of the contesting car.  Perhaps
make it clear that you are doing so.  (Do whatever you want if you car gets
keyed and no, I'm not suggesting vigilante behavior even though I think
it's legal in Texas :)
3. Don't bother parking far away because no matter how far away you park
another car will be next to you when you come back.  (I think it's an alpha
dog thing, but that could just be my ego talking  :)
4. Always try to park at the end of rows as close to the end as possible.
Meaning, no cars parked on one side of you and the other side as far away
from the next car as possible.  The E36 is actually a pretty small car (at
least here in Houston) and you can easily park 3 or 4 feet away from the
next car by parking close to the side without a car next to you.  
5. Don't sweat the dings too much.  Just drive the darn car hard.

This advice is worth exactly what you paid for it, good luck,  :)

PS I accidentally out ran a cop yesterday.  It was about 2:30 am, nobody on
the feeder road, three lanes, divided, well lit.  I was only doing about
+10 the speed limit, but I was in second gear and keeping it around redline
alternately accelerating and decelerating just for the g's of it.  So even
though I was speeding, it wasn't nearly as severe as I bet the cop thought
by the sound of it.  Anyhow, there is a great 180 turn with good visibility
that goes under the freeway that I have to take to get home and as usual I
four wheel drifted it and then agressively made the right onto my street
and then turned into my aparment front gate area.(language nazi's need not
reply about the run on sentence.)  A couple of seconds later, a cop cruiser
went speeding by.  I was relatively hidden by the foliage in front of my
complex, but I could see him.  I'm sure he was trying to catch me, but I
must have totally ditched him in the turn.   ..hehe..  I love my M3!  (And
NO, he never turned on his police lights.)...oh and please, if you
absolutely must flame me, please write to me directly.
