I have to second the pick for the gen. 1 Toyota MR2 being the best car for
under $3,000. I had the privelege of learning to drive (and drive stick at the
same time) on an MR2 and it was great. I have never driven a car which
provided so much thrill for the horsepower and handled beautifully... not to
mention that the redline is intoxicating.
