switching to individual message format

a reader asked the following question, and i'm sharing the answer with all
the digest readers. the space is added so that the majordomo commands come
_after_ the threshold for administrative bounces:

if you're concerned about reading all the messages, then wait until just
after a digest goes out, then send the following two commands to
majordomo@domain.elided

subscribe bmw
unsubscribe bmw-digest

if you don't mind missing a few messages, you can send the pair of commands
any time. if you're really paranoid about missing messages, then send the
first command

subscribe bmw

and then wait until you get a digest before you send

unsubscribe bmw-digest
