Hi there!
I'm looking for a good used, or new, 215/228 Std./Tii/HD clutch assy.
for BMW 2002, as mine just self-destructed and upheaved my daily driver!
I'm also looking for a good/decent condition early-style
(Porsche/ZF-synchro'd) tranny (mine also died), and a couple of rebuilt
or good/decent condition 2-piston, single-circuit (early-style) front
brake calipers for '66-69 2002 & 1600.
Also, my mechanic noted that the 215mm clutch might be less fatigueing
to my mech. clutch linkage. I would like to use a 228mm Std./HD/Tii
clutch, and I'd have to change the flywheel (no big deal), but the
increased pressure might bend the linkage rods.
Q: Does it matter/Should I even be worrying about this? Is there any
simple parts you know of for retrofitting the mech. clutch linkage,
say..bigger/stronger rods? My mechanic also advised me that the mech.
linkage really works better only with certain clutches, like the early
188 & 200s, due to the amount of clutch travel used for each clutch,
that maybe one could over-disengage the clutch and ruin the
pressure-plate diaphragm/coil spring/s of some clutches...do you know
anything about this?
Please email me directly @ [email protected] (work)
TIA for whatever you've got!
