Jack,
I installed the BMWSTX-1 in my E34 '92 525i. Although Stellar makes it
sound like; "Hey, just plug it in your factory BMW port and walk away!",
such is not the case. Just getting the LED harness from the alarm under
the back seat to the rear of the center console is a major PITA! In
most cases you need to remove the OBC horn and replace it with their
siren - PITA #2! And lastly, you'll need to route the wires for the
valet switch from under the back seat to a convenient location while
seated in the driver's seat - PITA #3! I do like the fact that the alarm
locks all the doors when the ignition is turned on but one of the things
I don't like is that you don't get any headlights or parking light
flashes when the alarm is armed/disarmed/activated. The "tech" on the
assist line said it can be done, but it's a major PITA (#4?). But all I
really wanted one for was to lock/unlock the doors remotely and get a
small sense of security when the car was left alone, so I'm satisfied
with it. Feel free to contact me with any other questions regarding the
BMWSTX-1.
