Tire(d) Question

I need to buy some new tires for my 1991 318is. Having just gone to my
first driving school, I am looking for a tire that will serve me well
when I go back for a second school. However, I would also like to buy a
tire that performs very well on the road and is relatively safe in the
rain. As for snow, I am not as concerned. I live in Maryland and the
amount of snow we receive will not affect my tire decision.
I have 14" wheels, so I am looking at some 205/60 R 14's.
I have narrowed it down to several tires:
1) Toyo Proxes H4
2) Bridgestone Potenza RE930
3) Yokohama AVS Intermediate
4) Dunlop 60 A2 JLB
The Toyo's seem to be my first choice. I like what I hear about the
Yoko's but I hear their tread life is very limited. The Tire Rack seems
to like the Bridgestone for my car.
Any advice on those tires AND or any other tires that I should be
considering besides those. My budget is $400 on the road (with a
preference for saving money, if possible).
I know these tire discussions take place all the time and appreciate
everyone taking the time to help me.
Thanks,
Paul A. Zeitlin
