Alright, I had to come out of the wood work for this one. I agree that there
may be a degree of driver error causing these problems. But consider that
there is an inescapable inference that there is something wrong with the
standard transmissions on these cars; I have never heard of so many problems
with one transmission. In isolation, sure, each event could be attribited to
driver error. But when there are so many instances, by enthusiasts - mind
you, who generally drive better - with the same or similar transmissions,
then the blame starts to shift. I cannot believe that all of these similar
problems were caused by only the drivers. There does appear to be a defect
in the transmission. Is there some driver error involved? Probably. Would
this be happening in the absence of a defect? Not on this scale.
