Last fall I purchased some Blizzaks from the Tire Rack already mounted on 
some steel rims (I didn't want to ruin my rims with the New England pot holes).
I got 15" for my '90 325i all around and with some weight in the back
I was very pleased with the ability to blaze through all the storms 
Mass. had last year.

The tires are soft and the performance is going to take a hit, but I usually
don't expect to do any fast cornering with ice or snow on the road.

Just my 2 cents.
