No.. there are different excellent tires that are better in other
ways. Blizzaks are just *one* of the excellent winter tires available.
Nokia NRW, Nokia Hakkapollita (sp?), Michelin Alpin, + others are all
great.

BTW, blizzaks are really good until they wear, and then they are
'ok'. Most of the other ones listed are almost as good as the blizzaks
when new, and keep being that way even when worn down a bit.

salt and sand often makes mag wheels look like hell, and mounting and
remounting different tires on aluminum wheels often leaves nicks and
gouges.. I vote for the steel wheels/snow tires + mag wheels/summer
tires

Almost any snow tire is better than almost any summer/all season tire
when it is snowing or even cold out. Do get snow tires.

Having 2 sets of wheels/tires makes changing over an easy do it
yourself kind of thing. Having snows mounted on your summer wheels can
be a pain in the ass.

Check with Tire Rack, or some of the other mail order tire places -
they often have packages with snow tires + steel wheels + wheel covers
for what you might pay for the tires alone at a local tire store!
